10 Weeks Quick

Hello one and all.
Raudha here.
Before NIE, I had always thought that being a teacher was far easier than being a student.
Now, having been through two semesters and 10 weeks of TP, i wish to God i was right...

No matter, TP was 'interesting' :)
On the first day, I met up with the P, VP, HOD and my 3 CTs.
They were friendly, approachable and liberal.
They were up for cooperative learning, integration and the whole works.
It felt as though they had been attending the classes we've had in NIE.
This meant that the school culture was more than liberating.

Anyhooo,
The first three weeks were chaotic.
There were many many changes in my timetable.
From 3 CTs to none.
As a result, my HOD had to become my CT.

Classes I had observed during the first week of induction were thrown out the window.
In the third week, I had new classes. And more than the previous three classes and 17 periods.
In the third week, I had 5 classes and 20 periods.

I became accustomed to the changes after the forth week.

I had no problems with the school, staff, colleagues and non-teaching staff.
I did not have to approach any parent but I had threatened to do so.
The students are like the common few we all have met and dealt with.
Discipline was not a major problem but it was a problem that was overcome with through a strict demeanor, structure, cause-and-effect and strike technique.

I was involved in many school activities, as requested of me.
The school aims to develop the students through Language Arts and my presence, given my subject combination, was appreciated and welcome.
They (ie VP, HOD, colleagues and students) requested I remain in the school.
I merely smiled and stated that I have yet to decide.

Despite the first four weeks, I left the school last Friday with a heavy heart.
TP was an emotional period in the beginning, but I am happy to say that I managed to overcome that hurdle and pull through to finish the race.
My superiors were amazingly accommodating in their open-mindedness.
They allowed for the teachers to take a step back in order for the students to fill up the center stage.
They were superb hosts and I fear that my 10 weeks there were much too quick :(
